I looked at the FAQs and didn't see anything in there. how do you test the throttle on this. is it a variable resistor. it has 2 wires. tested the other switches and they all seem fine i do hear a click when I press the green button |

what is wrong with your e100 i dont know if you are aware of this but the e100 needs to be kick started to get going you have to get it up to about 3 mph for the controller thhrottle to kick injust prop it up and spin the back tire and gun the throttle if that doesnt work then from the 2 wires from what is called your controller take a small peice of wire and put one end in on of the holes from the throttle and the other end in the other hole but be careful by doing so your motor will run at full throttle (ps in order to do this you need to unplug your throttle from the controller

Thanks I finally got around to reading this. I wasn't aware of that. I posted on here about a mini moto 18v pocket bike that was running full throttle awhile back. It still doesn't run. Someone gave me the E100. I took it hoping to use the guts to rewire the minimoto. Do you think it will work. what is the motor in the mm rated for? |

the e100 has a very weak motor only 100w what i would recomend doing is overvolting your motor in you mini bike useing the batteries and the controller from the e100 because if you try to use the 18v the pocket bike wont work ass in a controller there is a low voltage cut off and you wont have the voltage to get that running over volting your motor should be fine as you have an 18v and your only going to 24

The only way that i can think of is to get a different controller that doesn't have that setting inside of it i think that it is kinda stupid idea to have as no one seems to like it try this controller it may not be plug and play but it will work i think http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/150-watt-universal-speed-voltage-controller.html the lock is your switch too and it depends on how many wires your throttle is too

You're gonna need a throttle as well. One with variable voltage.

thanks unc d i forgot bout that since the e100 you may want to just buy an entire kit of a motor throttle and controller that are to work together

would I be better of getting the controller that comes in the minimoto. The throttle on th mm has 3 wires is that the right one. the throttle on the E100 just seeemed to turn on is it just a switch. |

Yeh its just a switch.
I actually have a motor and controller from a PR200 for sale. I've even overvolted the controller with 36V and its been found to hold up. I know at least one other member who has overvolted the PR200 controller as well.
Still you would need a 3 pin, variable throttle.

Yeah, there's a negative, positive(5V) and varying 1-4V with twist of throttle. That is, while its connected.

dozer, I thought that was a great question. I'd never really thought about it before.
I got out my DMM and a New Hall throttle and a new Magura throttle. With the resistive throttle (Magura) I got 5kohms from pos to neg, and varying from 0-5K from the wiper to negative as I twiested the grip. So that would be a good test and you would not have to have a power source to test it.
Not so much on the Hall throttle. The only reading I got in Ohms was across pos and neg. That was 1920 Ohms. Nothing from signal to negative or from signal to pos. Makes sense because the Hall sensors need to be connected to a 5V source before they can work. So, don't think an Ohmeter can test an unpowered Hall throttle.
With the Hall connected to a 5V source (controller) you should get a varying voltage between 1V and 4V as you roll the throttle. That would be measured from signal to negative.

so its a 5 k pot. I'm familiar with these from the electric forklifts I work on. the hall switches I'm not as familiar with but I know they are harder to test with an ohm meter. Thanks I'll try that tomorrow |

I believe your's is a Hall type so you'd have to use the Hall test method Sirius shared.

This ocurred to me the other day. you said they had weak motors. Thats why they need the rolling start. Motor can't do it on its on and survive the warranty period

Was this in reference to the motor I told you I have in the for sale section? If so, yes the controller uses a 3 wire Hall throttle.

Actually the motor is from a PR200 and the motor is from the Razor E300.
Are we talking about the controller you have linked working with the E300 motor? I think it would, but not sure as to how well. Its meant for a smaller motor.
