i recently picked up this i-500 on craigslist for $30.00.the batteries the batteries died after about 8 or 10 cycles,so this past weekend i upgraded it with three 12 amp hr batteries.i stood the batts.on end and made a cover from a schwinn 400 battery box turned upsidedown.i welded footpeg mounts for long legged me,and used griptape on the box for shorter legged kids.the footpegs are chopper motorcycle aftermarket jobs from my old triumph.the bike is real comfortable and runs fast and smooth at 36v.id say it does over 25 mph with my 60lb. kid on it.
